Check both the WHOLE WORD and CASE buttons. You can search by decade by entering the double digit plus "s" for 100 years, 90s through 80s for any page but the main screen. On all pages you can search by reporting marks by entering it without periods such as PCC&StL except for marks that in themselves could be part of ordinary words such as SPecial or cUP. In such cases use of periods will specify the roads: S.P. or U.P. You can search by car type under the following titles: SS_BOX; DS_BOX; STEEL_BOX; GONDOLA; HOPPER; TANK; ORE_CAR; DS_AUTO; SS_AUTO; STEEL_AUTO; STOCK_CAR; BOX_VENT; MOW. We have tried to tie the major roads and subsidiary roads together with a listing such as: NYC } P&LE. In this case a search for NYC will pull up all subsidiaries while a seach for P&LE will only pull up the specific road. This is a great aid for determinig other lettering schemes for the cars.
